Hi there, I’m Mauriel! Thank you for taking the time to view my work. This portfolio currently serves as a representation of my adventures in art making. This collection spans over 15 years of artistic pursuits, including undergraduate studies, classroom experience, and current personal work. Enjoy!

Raised in the small town of Greeneville, in East Tennessee, Mauriel grew up juggling choir rehearsals, church potlucks, and sci-fi movie marathons with her family—all while finding time to draw, paint, and dream big. After earning her bachelor’s in Fine and Studio Art from Maryville College and a master’s in Art Education from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville, Mauriel brought creativity to the classroom as a visual arts teacher at Austin East Magnet High School (Knoxville, Tn.) and Dalewood Middle School (Chattanooga, Tn.), encouraging young minds to see art as both a mirror and a megaphone.

These days, you’ll find Mauriel swapping paintbrushes for squeegees as a screen printer at an athletic embellishment company—still making art, just on a different kind of canvas. And when the curtain rises, she’s right back on stage with her local community theater, doing what she loves: telling stories, connecting with people, and keeping the spotlight on creativity.

In addition to continuing my art practice, I’m currently building my styling business. Think of me as your “Chic Sidekick,” here to craft your wardrobe and fashion identity. Stay tuned to follow me on my next adventure. Maybe we’ll meet somewhere along the way!
